You are just not the audience the original F87 catered for. And I’m not the type of audience this car is made for. It’s really as simple as that. For me, this car is way way too heavy. It’s fugly. In a way, it’s plainly boring. You can’t enjoy it on nice curvy roads because of the power and stability. You are way over the speed limit before you feel any excitement. Yeah, it might be better for highway, maybe track (although it will be insanely more expensive to track than the old F87) but in no way it’s a better car for country backroads. Shame.

I bought two of these from new, a pre and then an LCI with comp pack, B & O sound system and most optional extras ticked including soft close doors which is a touch that just lifts and makes the car along with other options. The comfort seats are fantastic but get the ventilated seat option for cooling in the summer, I found them fantastic. It is a very fast but stable drivers car, it inspires confidence and for a big car really turns in well and hugs the road. Yes they are hard work in the wet when trying to accelerate hard but you leave your traction aids on and just drive accordingly. I still think they look great today and if I had the choice I’d have one of these over the latest M3, M4,M5, M8 without thinking about it, this was one of the last if not the last decent car BMW produced, just please please please don’t buy one and put carbon fibre all over it.😊

Ummm,, I own a 2014 gran coupe competition package and they are NOT hard to drive in the rain unless you are a complete meat head on the gas all the time at every light or the type of yahoo who does burnouts all the time and has never realistically raced a car to its limits. Grandma is not going to lose traction while driving this car because it is tame but has good, safe and fun pull anywhere up to mid throttle and respect its power. If you are an meat head who thinks they can pretty much go 75% to 100% full throttle in any condition and on any road then you will not be happy with this car. But then again, you are in meat head driver probably.

I got the Certificate of Conformity for my 2015 330d and NOx is too high for it to be ULEZ complaint.

I hear the same all over UA-cam about the sound. Once you change the exhaust to something aftermarket it opens up and sounds pretty dog gone good. May not scream like a flat 6 but every event I go to the Porsche folks say the same thing. "I did not expect that". I'm running the "Soul Street Package". People always review with the stock exhaust and say that the sound is the only reason not to buy this car. It creates a culture of hate on the 2.5L. People hated my car and never even heard on in person. i have change so many Porsche folks opinions.

I just bought a used 2018 M2 two days ago. It’s incredibly fast, and this opinion is coming from someone who’s recently owned a GT4RS, GT4, and 911 Carrera T. The M2 feels as quick in spirited road driving. It absolutely rips.

The G87 M2 must be the most covered vehicle in the UK… I feel like 80% of the new M2 videos in UA-cam are. Nothing wrong, I actually want one here in America. I wonder how rare a left-hand drive is going to be at the end of the model run. Or perhaps all M2s in the UK are press cars…

for some dumb reason I sold mine with a stage 2+ tune and deletes, the car had 200,000 miles on it, the guy I sold it to totaled it in under 3 hours. Car was fast, it was a torque monster. 100Mph would get you 30MPG, 80MPH was 40MPG. Passing 170MPH car was still pulling strong. Tuner had it GPS verified at 186mph, I ran out of road before gear. Only real maintenance the car ever needed was a leak repair at turbo inlet, and a few sensors. The 40-120 time on this car was bonkers

Beautiful car reliable mechanics. I have a 2014 M6 works like a charm. Of course it has a lot of power just learn how to control it before pushing it.

Extremely underrated. I personally would go for a 330d. You can get similar power and more reliably in a lower insurance group.

Love mine. Even standard, it’ll light up the rears between 2nd and 3rd in the dry. Perfect long distance GT for driving to the south of France every year.

0:59 its been noted that the F87 had actually better headroom than the G87. Leg space is relatively the same but since the G87 has a lower slopped rear window it leave less space for your passengers in the back

better than a porsche? no. But then again, what BMWs are? The G87 has the deadest steering I've ever experienced. Like turning a spoon in peanutbutter. The brake feel is spongy and inert, which is odd since it is brake-by-wire. They could have made it feel however they wished. My G87 is a nice commuter car with some quickness. I won't bother autocrossing or tracking it. Nice, but let's not fool ourselves.

Great car , hard to find better value for money, much better car than F87

G87 wins on pretty much everything: Engine, Chassis, Interior and Tech but, loses on Exterior Design compared to the F87 M2 Comp IMO. I suppose an argument could be put forward for a DCT as opposed to a traditional converter automatic transmission and that M2 is becoming a bit of a "porker" with every new model released. It does have a face only a mother could love and a backside an Obstetrician needs to slap!
